Program Overview

Our goal: To help students understand how and why learning truly is amazing, fun, beneficial, and essential! We let them experience the natural, authentic process of learning a new skill, and then letting it directly benefit their life. We focus teaching while learning in order to aid retention and understanding, We then provide courses on how to manage a business and personal finances. We then help our students put all of this into action as they create a business of their own. 

Course Example: Our music course is called Music is Amazing. The music portion of this course is ten weeks long and is a thorough, understandable, in-depth, music curriculum that uses the piano to teach music theory, history, practice techniques, and how to use music in our daily life. It includes a wealth of deeper concepts as to WHY and HOW music concepts work and are used, all presented in a fun, interactive and engaging way! The student develops a music/piano toolkit of learning by the end of the course that they can use to continue expanding and practicing their piano skills and knowledge. Most importantly they can ENJOY the piano and music for the rest of their lives as they use it! 

All throughout the ten weeks, the students have a coach. They choose a reliable, familiar adult from their friends or family to be their coach before the program begins. We ensure that the coach agrees to stay and support the student throughout the program and we briefly train them on how to do so. The student teaches their coach every single concept that they learn, from day one. The coach gets to learn about music through their student, a supportive relationship between the student and coach is strengthened, and the retention and clarifying power of teaching what we learn cements the knowledge in the student’s mind, so both benefit!   

Now comes the added business/financial portion where it gets put into action! This portion is designed to be five weeks, thus making the whole course 15 weeks long, the average length of a semester class. Though a few concepts will have been introduced already, this is where the business classes start fully. This will be a brief but thorough boot camp in financial literacy and basic, competent business management and entrepreneurship. It will include the basic skills needed to help the student get started in a little business of their own teaching the piano, or something music related. They will have the lifelong benefit of understanding business and financial concepts in a hands-on way. We, and their coach, guide them in this process. As an added help, they are free to use whatever curriculum/materials they want from our music program in their own business and they can choose to partner with us to be a peer teacher in our in-person lessons, so we help with their marketing also. Why reinvent the wheel when our wheel works! We want this knowledge shared and our students to be successful!

- They learn a skill (music in this example) using a method that naturally helps them retain and understand the material and they learn to use it in their daily life. 

-They learn the joy of, and tips for teaching others and gain practice doing so. They learn management skills and gain experience interacting with others.  

-They leave with a functioning business they can grow as long as they choose to!  

-They learn essential business and financial concepts in an authentic, hands-on manner which will be an amazing benefit for their entire lifetime.
